Pediatric Dentistry and Children with Special Needs

by on 29 April

We regularly see special needs patients who have a difficult time receiving dental care and have elevated dental anxiety. Our calm, professional dental office in Arizona is equipped with the latest technology that allows us to perform a variety of dental procedures from filings, crowns, root canals and dental x-rays. Our patient's comfort is a priority for us and we have designed our Goodyear, Surprise and Avondale dental practices to make our patients, special needs patients especially, the most relaxed and comfortable. We are trained in behavior management, including special needs and can properly execute dental care services for patients of all ages, including adolescents.

Establishing dental home is important and should be established as early as the first teeth appear or within the first six month of baby's first tooth eruption. The dental home approach offers your child a safe place to begin receiving dental care where they become familiar with our dental team, dentist, and dental practice environment at the very early age. This make them feel at ease during early years, and make them eventually exciting for future dentist visits. It also teaches helpful tips on oral hygiene and dietary guidelines to both parents and children alike.

At, Palm Valley Pediatric Dentistry practices, we offer a variety of dental care services to special needs patients including:

- Dental cleaning

- Comprehensive dental exam

- Digital x-rays

- Fluoride treatment

- Sealants

- Fillings, Crowns and Extractions

- IV and Conscious Sedation management techniques

Ultimately, finding a skilled pediatric dentist for special needs children can be a challenge. However, our all female pediatric dental team has the training and experience needed to interact positively and effectively with your special needs child. We understand and apply the appropriate sedation dentistry techniques to keep your child both safe and relaxed during necessary dental procedures. These procedures and treatment approaches help to keep your child's teeth and gums safe and healthy. We will work closely with parents or guardian, to develop personalized dental care plan that meet the needs your special needs child throughout infancy through their teenage years and onward.
