Meet the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD)

by on 23 April

This is important because the way we view dental care as adults is shaped by what we experience as a child. While many doctors provide care for children only a small percentage have completed the specialty training and rigorous examination process to become board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).

What is the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry?

This organization establishes the standard of excellence in pediatric dentistry through a certification process, which includes an extensive review of the doctors educational credentialing and intensive written and oral examinations. The goal of this certification process is to lead to highest quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs.

Why is affiliation under the ABPD important?

Achieving certification with the ABPD is an added challenge beyond specialty training that demonstrates the doctors commitment to their patients and the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry. It ensures the public that our doctors have completed the accredited training and examinations to continually validate the knowledge. skills, and experience needed for quality pediatric care.

Our doctors have excelled in Phoenix Metro pediatric dentistry by receiving the special education of child psychology, behavior guidance, preventive techniques, restorative dentistry, interceptive and comprehensive care, and treatment for handicapped or chronically ill children.

We understand how to comfort anxious children to feel secure during dental treatment, and our office is designed for children (video games, books, videos, toys).

We want your children to know that going to the dentist can be fun and as a parent you can take comfort in knowing your child is in good hands with our doctors and staff. We love children and dentistry, and will go the extra mile to ensure your child is in a fun, caring, and safe environment!
